An early eclipse-viewing apparatus on the occasion of the August 31, 1932 eclipse of the sun which crossed New England. The cardboard viewer has eye holes covered by a “Non-inflammable Filter.” The printed envelope for the “scope” features a map of the path of the eclipse, including the path of totality from Montreal through the White Mountains and to Portland, Maine.
The Eclipse-O-Scope was provided by The Harvey & Lewis Co., “Opticians, Kodaks, Movies,” with six locations in Connecticut and Massachusetts.
