The chart indicates corn and cotton fields, as well as several rice plantations. Among the islands identified are Argyle, Pennyworth and Fig. The map is accompanied by the 10-page Report of the Secretary of War, Communicating a copy of Lieut. Smith's Survey and Examination of the Savannah river (31st Congress/1st Session/Senate Exec. Doc. No. 19.). The report has been disbound.
