The highlight of this paper is the front page obituary of John Ledyard. Taking about the top half of the first column, the report -- datelined London, April 20 -- notes Ledyard's passing in Cairo on January 17. Included in Ledyard's biography is his service with Captain Cook, his travel through Russia and his last planned exploration of Africa. "Mr. Ledyard was strong and active, bold as a lion, and gentle as he was bold." The newspaper also features significant reporting on the activities of the first Congress, meeting in New York. Topics included lighthouses, the salary of the vice-president, the government of the territory North West of the Ohio and the amendments to the Constitution. Nice content in a well-preserved paper.
