The Connecticut Courant and Weekly Intelligencer. Tuesday, November 23, 1779.

Hartford. Printed by Hudson and Goodwin, near the Great-Bridge. 1779. Never bound. Areas of light impression. And some reflecting overinking. All text readable nevertheless. Item #3553

The entire front page and a half column of the second are devoted to a bitterly sarcastic critique of Henry Clinton's ("Sir Harry") leadership, including (on p. 2) his "proclamation to sell negroes captured from the enemy." There is also a report on page 2 of the unsuccessful storming of Savannah by French and American forces; Count Polaski (Pulaski) was mortally wounded in that attack. Finally, a brief report on page 2 notes the capture of three notorious counterfeiters of Continental money and states that they are "part of a chain of near 500 , dispersed from one end of the continent to the other, supposedly by the British Government or its Generals in America."
