An exceptionally informative and extremely scarce Southern almanac. In addition to the standard almanac fare (calendar pages, detailed government and commercial information, etc.), this almanac includes a rather lengthy planter's calendar with instructions on growing cotton and rice, Darwin's remarks on the season for transplanting, a four-page chronology of the battles and significant events of the War of 1812 ("Second War with Great Britain") and the detail of the "Great Mail Line of Post-Offices" from Sunbury, Georgia to Wiscasset, District of Maine (1,432 miles).
