A very decorative chart of the coast of Maine, privately published by Robert Chellis. Documentation accompanying the printing plate for the chart indicated that 500 copies were printed on parchment stock in June, 1933 by the Southgate Press in Boston. The chart is surrounded by twenty-eight illustrations of coastal scenes and landmarks. Provided with the chart is an 8 1/2 x 11" printed sheet titled "List of Border Illustrations to Accompany A Chart of the Coast of Maine." Mr. Chellis, an engineer with Stone & Webster, was an authority on foundation piles; his motivation as a chart publisher is unknown.
